Who we are

Candid Compare (candidcompare.com) is run by Berry Blockchain Ltd. Berry Blockchain Ltd is the controller of personal data collected through this site under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can reach us through our contact form or at [email protected].

What we collect and why

1. Contact form

If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic you choose, your message and which of our web addresses you sent it from. The form is delivered to us by email. We use it only to reply to you and deal with your request.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in answering messages sent to us (Article 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep it: up to 12 months after our last reply, then we delete it, unless we need it longer for a legal reason.

2. Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending it. Turnstile processes information about your browser and device to do this. It doesn't use advertising cookies. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests in keeping the form free of spam and abuse.

3. Hosting and server logs (Cloudflare)

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the page and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests in running a secure website.

4. Affiliate links and click references

We haven't joined any affiliate programmes yet. For now, retailer links on this site, including our /go/ links, send you straight to the retailer's own website. They add no click reference, tracking code or affiliate parameter, and we don't record who clicked.

If we join a programme (for example through Awin, CJ or Impact), we'll update this notice before any tracking starts. The click reference would contain only your region (for example UK or US), the retailer name, an ad click ID if you arrived from an ad (Google's gclid or Microsoft's msclkid) and the campaign label from the link. It would never contain your name, email or IP address. Once you're on a retailer's site, the retailer may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests in being paid commission for referrals.

Analytics and cookies

We don't use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies of our own on this site. If we add any, we'll update this notice first and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Who we share data with

Cloudflare (hosting, security, Turnstile and email delivery), our email provider (to receive contact form messages), and affiliate networks and retailers as described above. We don't sell personal data.

International transfers

Cloudflare and our email provider may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US Data Bridge.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, contact us through the contact form or email [email protected]. We'll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, phone 0303 123 1113.
